We’re putting our money where it counts.

Because you’re counting on us.

Investing in our supply chain for your patients.

Baxter has invested more than $2.5 billion in U.S. manufacturing and distribution over a 10-year period.1* This ongoing investment enables us to expand our manufacturing network to create redundancy, increase production and add capacity — allowing us to minimize costly shutdowns and keep production flowing so we can meet critical IV supply needs now and in the future.

*Calculation includes all portfolio investments from 2015 to 2025.

We have invested in the systems, safeguards and global infrastructure to act quickly and confidently in any crisis.

Our Supply Chain Control Tower provides visibility into inventory in transit.

Utilizing integrated, cross-functional data, our Control Tower’s state-of-the-art monitoring systems enable us to:

  • Identify irregularities in real time, e.g., weather patterns or geopolitical issues
  • Anticipate disruptions
  • Respond quickly to unexpected events
  • Deliver confidence and transparency

Obtaining actionable insights at every step along the supply chain facilitates collaboration and informs our response, including national and international rerouting capabilities.

The iMove program: Leveraging robotics to enhance efficiency

  • Accelerating material delivery. From raw materials to finished IV-fluid solutions, the materials needed to produce our lifesaving and life-sustaining products move efficiently from receiving to production to the shop floor to the warehouse for final shipment.
  • Increasing productivity. Our smarter, faster supply chain avoids delays and optimizes the handling and transport of IV-fluid components through the production cycle until they are filled, finished and ready for distribution.

Expanded capacity supports product demand.

We increased manufacturing capacity in two important areas to ensure a robust supply into the future.

50%

increase for Mini-Bag Plus Single Packs in 2025

20%

increase in irrigation solutions in pour bottles by 2026

We also updated a replenishment center in Tennessee to support volume and throughput for our U.S. customers.

Supplying our own uninterrupted source of energy ensures continuous operations.

We have invested $30 million in energy cogeneration systems to support the resilience of our two plants in Puerto Rico. Together they produce more than 250 million units of IV solutions per year, so protecting the plants and taking steps to maintain uninterrupted production are of vital importance.

Cogeneration utilizes natural gas and therefore reduces our reliance on the local utility grid. So regardless of public power disruption or environmental disasters, we can continue operations 24/7.

Fortifying our Aibonito, Puerto Rico, plant

  • Improved roof seal to protect against water leakage and wind damage
  • Constructed new deep well to create redundancy and augment the plant’s water supply
  • Expanded capacity and redundancy for the water filtration and water distillation processes

The benefits of automation, robotics and AI innovation
